Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued March 16 at 3:00AM CDT until March 16 at 3:30AM CDT by NWS New Orleans LA

At 259 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Eden Isle, moving east at 45 mph.

HAZARD…70 mph wind gusts and ping pong ball size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include… New Orleans, Slidell, Eden Isle, Lake Catherine, and Pearlington.

This includes Interstate 10 in Louisiana near mile marker 256, and between mile markers 259 and 266.

What to do: A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 400 AM CDT for southeastern Louisiana…and southern Mississippi. Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from windows. To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in New Orleans.
