Areas affected: Chautauqua; Southern Erie
High Wind Warning issued March 16 at 3:58AM EDT until March 17 at 8:00AM EDT by NWS Buffalo NY
WHAT…South to southeast winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected early this morning. Winds become southwest later this morning with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
WHERE…Chautauqua and Southern Erie Counties. Strongest gusts are expected along the northwest downslope region of the Chautauqua Ridge and to the Lake Erie shoreline this morning. Southwest winds later this morning will be across southern Erie and western Chautauqua counties.
WHEN…Until 8 AM EDT Tuesday.
IMPACTS…Strong winds will blow down trees and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
What to do: Avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.

WHAT…South to southeast winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected this morning. Winds become southwest this afternoon with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
WHERE…Jefferson and Lewis Counties. Strongest gusts are expected this morning along the northwest and northern face of the Tug Hill. Southwest winds will be countywide.
WHEN…Until 8 PM EDT this evening.
IMPACTS…Strong winds will blow down trees and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

High Wind Warning issued March 16 at 2:33AM EDT until March 17 at 11:00AM EDT by NWS Burlington VT
WHAT…South winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.
WHERE…Franklin, Western Clinton, and Western Essex Counties in New York.
WHEN…Until 11 AM EDT Tuesday.
IMPACTS…Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS…The strongest wind gusts are expected through Noon today, and along the Route 11 corridor. Another period of strong winds are expected between 2 AM and 10 AM Tuesday.
What to do: Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution if you must drive. People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind.
