High Wind Warning issued March 16 at 2:44AM EDT until March 16 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Cleveland OH

  • WHAT…South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected this morning, shifting to southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph this afternoon.

  • WHERE…Northern Erie and Southern Erie Counties.

  • WHEN…Until 8 PM EDT this evening.

  • IMPACTS…Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Winds will peak early this morning before shifting to southwest and gradually diminishing by this afternoon, but gusts up to 50 mph are expected at times through this evening.

What to do: Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution if you must drive.
