WHEN…For the Lake Wind Advisory, from 4 AM early this morning to 2 AM EDT Tuesday. For the Freeze Warning, from 4 AM to 10 AM EDT Tuesday. For the Freeze Watch, from late Tuesday night through Wednesday morning.
IMPACTS…Strong winds and rough waves on area lakes will create hazardous conditions for small craft. Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
What to do: Boaters on area lakes should use extra caution since strong winds and rough waves can overturn small craft. Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly.
